A recent visitor to the Port Wing area has come down with COVID-19 and is hospitalized elsewhere in the state. The Bayfield County Health Department reported that there was one positive patron at the Port Bar and Restaurant in Port Wing on July 3-4.
The visitor spent time at the establishment between 10 a.m.-11 a.m. July 3 and between 11 a.m.-noon and 4-8 p.m. on July 4.
According to the county, contact tracing is completed on all positive cases and they take measures to notify people who are considered close contacts. However, when the person is not a Bayfield County resident and an interview cannot be completed, it's not always possible to notify all contacts.
The county advises patrons of the establishment to self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms.
