One more Northland resident has died from COVID-19 and its complications as of Saturday.
The person was a Carlton County resident in their early 90s, according to the Minnesota Department of Health. The county has now lost a total of 40 people to the illness.
Another 130 people in the 10-county region have tested positive for COVID-19, the states of Minnesota and Wisconsin reported Saturday.
They were among 2,489 new cases across Minnesota and 3,046 new cases in Wisconsin.

Wisconsin reported 36 more deaths from COVID-19. None of them lived in the three counties in the northwestern part of the state. Forty-three more Minnesotans have died from the illness as of Saturday, including the Carlton County resident.
