After last week's free COVID-19 testing event in Washburn, Bayfield County will be offering another free testing event Friday.
The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the Iron River Community Center, 8275 E. Mill St. Any Wisconsin resident who's at least 5 years old can get tested.
At last week's event in Washburn, 228 people were tested and seven of them were diagnosed with COVID-19. As of Wednesday afternoon, four of the test results were still pending, according to Bayfield County.
The Wisconsin National Guard has been assisting Bayfield County with the testing events.
To avoid lines and wait time, registering for the event online is encouraged but not required. Those who want to can do so at register.covidconnect.wi.gov/en-US . Those with questions can call the Bayfield County COVID-19 hotline at 715-373-3324.
