ROCHESTER, Minn. — The need for organ donation is huge. Lifesource, an organ procurement organization, notes on their website that every day in the U.S., an average of 17 people die waiting for a donor organ. And right now, more than 100,000 people are waiting for the gift of life.
The woman you're about to meet lost her husband in a farming accident. Chris Howard and her four children, Lucas, Seth, Quin and Cody, find comfort in knowing that Eric Howard's donated organs are keeping others alive.
"My husband's heart is still beating," says Howard. "No matter how hard everybody tried we couldn't save him. But we were able to save others. And that helps."
