Four more Northland residents have died of COVID-19 and its complications as of Saturday.
Three of those people lived in St. Louis County. One person was in their early 50s. The others were in their early 70s and 80s. Since the pandemic began, the county has lost 208 residents to the illness.
The Minnesota Department of Health reported another death in Carlton County, brining the county's COVID-19 death toll to 38. The person was in their early 60s.
Across the 10-county region of the Northland 145 more people have tested positive for COVID-19, according to the states of Minnesota and Wisconsin.

The Minnesota Department of Health did not update its data on Friday in observance of New Year's Day. The COVID-19 numbers Minnesota reported Saturday were analyzed Thursday. Sunday's data will include deaths and new cases from two days to make up for the holiday.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services COVID-19 data has been updated as usual.
Minnesota reported a total of 2,543 new cases and 54 more deaths on Saturday. Wisconsin reported 1,078 cases and 1 new more death.
