29 new COVID-19 cases reported in Northland

A total of 29 new cases of COVID-19 were announced in the Northland on Friday.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 18 additional cases in St. Louis County, tying the daily record set Thursday. There were two new cases in Aitkin, Itasca and Koochiching counties and one new case each in Carlton and Lake.

Meanwhile, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services confirmed three new cases in Douglas County.

Throughout Minnesota, the health department reported 779 new cases and the completion of 15,597 additional tests.

The health department also reported six new deaths, but none in the Northland.

The number of patients hospitalized in an intensive care unit in Minnesota was 151, up 10 from Thursday. The number of people hospitalized due to COVID-19, but not in an ICU, was 161, up four from Thursday.

In Wisconsin, 15,379 tests were conducted. There were 832 new confirmed cases and 15 additional deaths reported statewide.
