The prospect of building a new fire hall to jointly serve Duluth's Woodland neighborhood and the UMD campus will be discussed at a community meeting Tuesday.
Anyone interested in learning more about the proposal or who wishes to ask questions about the idea is encouraged to attend the gathering, which will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Woodland School Media Room.
The single new centralized fire hall would replace the current Woodland and UMD stations.
The consolidation was recommended by a consultant following a comprehensive review of local firefighting operations. The meeting is
intended to be informational, and city staff members hope to gather public input on the proposal.
