The Carlton County Sheriff's Department has released the name of a woman killed Friday in a snowmobile accident about five miles west of Kettle River.
Kathleen Mary Schlumpberger, 56, of McGregor, died after her snowmobile left the Soo Line Trail and rolled into a patch of trees. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Schlumpberger was alone when the accident happened. She was found by her husband, who went looking for her after she did not return home when expected.
Carlton County Dispatch received a 911 call reporting the accident around 6:50 p.m.
