A 53-year-old woman died after rolling her ATV in rural Cook on Sunday night.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the crash on the 3200 block of Randa Road, located north of Lake Vermilion, and found Pamela Lou Benson laying in the road next to her overturned ATV around 9:20 p.m. Local residents were tending to her, a news release from the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office reads.
St. Louis County sheriff's deputies, St. Louis County Rescue Squad, Cook Ambulance, Cook Fire Department, Virginia Ambulance and Life Link Air Medical were dispatched. They performed lifesaving efforts, and Benson was pronounced dead at the scene, the release said.
Benson was driving southbound on the gravel road when the ATV suddenly swerved to the right, which caused it to roll several times. She was then ejected from the ATV.
The sheriff's office is investigating the crash.
