Former city of Duluth Chief Administrative Officer Mark Winson was in Farmington, N.M., today interviewing for the city manager position there.

Winson is one of six finalists for the position, said Farmington City Clerk Diane Fuhrman. Over the next three days, the candidates will meet with city staff, take tours and participate in citizen panel interviews.

Furhman said city leaders hope to make a decision by May 1.

Winson is currently the vice president of finance and administration at Lake Superior College in Duluth. A call to Winson's office Wednesday indicated that he was out of town and he could not be reached for comment.

In 2005, Winson was unceremoniously with a note taped to his door in 2005 by Duluth Mayor Herb Bergson over philosophical and professional differences.
