The driver of a pickup truck that rear-ended a car in Pine County late Friday night left the scene and later abandoned the vehicle.

The other driver, Rachel M. Kiminski, 36, of Willow River was injured and taken to Mercy Hospital in Moose Lake, the Minnesota State Patrol said.

The State Patrol said Kiminski was southbound on Interstate 35 near Willow River at 11:32 p.m. when her 2003 Kia Spectra was rear-ended by a 1997 Ford F150, pushing the Kia into the ditch.

The Ford F150 later was founded abandoned in Willow River, the State Patrol said.

No condition report for Kiminski was available, but the State Patrol said her injuries were not life-threatening. She was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
