Widespread 911 outage restored in St. Louis, Carlton counties

Law enforcement agencies around the country experienced an outage Monday night.

The widespread 911 outage affecting St. Louis and Carlton counties Monday evening has been restored, according to reports from both counties' sheriff's offices.

Carlton County reported the outage around 6:30 p.m. Monday. The outage has been resolved in Minnesota around 8:45 p.m. Monday, according to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety Emergency Communication Networks.

Law enforcement agencies around the country reported a 911 outage Monday night. A Facebook post from the Cloquet Police Department read: "We're hearing this is a nationwide outage."
