The relatively new rock band Cold Current made its debut in September, opening for Trampled By Turtles. Four months later, the foursome -- which includes former members of the band Lo-Fi -- is releasing it's self-titled debut during a free show at the Reef.
Here are four things Adam Sippola wants you to know about the album, in his words:
r After seven years with little contact, Will Adamczak and I reconnected in Duluth, both excited about the idea of writing some songs together. In the spring of 2008, we got together with Russ Sackett and Walt Weden and started playing rock 'n' roll. Cold Current was formed.
r The creative process for this album, with a few exceptions, consisted of Weden writing a guitar part, to which I would write melody and lyrics. These songs would then be presented to the band, further shaped, practiced and polished.
r From grief to loneliness, to hope and renewel, the lyrics from this album reflect a range of emotion through the themes of human relationships, the effects of a war-driven culture and spiritual perseverance.

r The album was recorded and mixed at Sacred Heart Studio with Eric Swanson in November and December. It was such a pleasure working with Swanson, and the band is grateful for such an enjoyable experience.
