A dog that had been missing since a house fire two weeks ago in West Duluth was found Thursday on Interstate 35.
Muffin, a Pekinese-poodle mix, was credited with alerting the tenants that one of their roommates was still inside the burning house. After everyone was safely out of the house, Muffin jumped out of a roommate's arms and fled down Skyline Drive, according to his owner, Amber Kealer.
He had been spotted several times since the Feb. 5 fire, but no one's been able to catch him until Thursday evening, when a man saw the dog jumping through traffic on I-35 near the Boundary Avenue exit.
The man was able to get ahold of the dog, even though Muffin bit him on the neck, said Tanya Fleener, Kealer's mother. He handed the dog off to Fleener shortly afterward.
He wouldn't accept a reward, Fleener said.

"He didn't want anything other than to know the dog was safe," Fleener said.
The man told her he had been following Muffin's story since Kealer contacted the media seeking help.
Kealer was at work Thursday, but Fleener brought Muffin in for a quick reunion. Then it was back home for a bath and some rest after two weeks on the run.
"He's pretty thin. ... And he's got a little limp," Fleener said. "But he's happy to be home."
