Expect an additional 6 inches of snow from 6 a.m. to noon today. Winds will continue out of the east-northeast at 15-25 mph with gusts near 40 mph by the lake. Heavy snow will turn to light snow in the afternoon. Conditions are right for full-on lake-effect snow, but some light snow is possible throughout the evening and into Thursday morning. Highs today will be near 33.

Range, Ironwood: 3-6"
Ely, International Falls, Grand Marais: 1-3"

On Thursday, there's a 40 percent chance of more snow showers by the lake. Expect mos­tly cloudy to overcast skies with lows near 19 and highs at 30. On Friday, we'll have lows near 20 and highs at 34 with cloudy skies and another 40 percent chance of some snow in the morning.
