An extreme amount of warm air is set to roll in across the upper Mississippi valley today. Our average for this time of year hangs out in the low to mid-40s. Many parts of the Northland are set to soar into the mid to upper 50s. Don't be surprised if areas in east-central Minnesota and west-central Wisconsin climb into the 60s or higher. If you are traveling toward Minneapolis there is a great shot of seeing temperatures in the 70s.
A low-pressure system also will begin to move into the region today. East to northeast winds off of Lake Superior will keep the Duluth area much cooler in the 40s and 50s.
