Wednesday's weather for Duluth and the Northland: Partly cloudy and windy

TODAY: The winds will pick up out of the northeast at 10-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Highs will be in the mid 60s with partly cloudy skies as a ridge of a high-pressure system moves over the Northland.

TODAY: The winds will pick up out of the northeast at 10-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.  Highs will be in the mid 60s with partly cloudy skies as a ridge of a high-pressure system moves over the Northland.

THURSDAY: A low-pressure system  is approaching from the west along with a trough in the jet stream.  We've got a 60 percent chance of showers and storms in the afternoon.  Morning lows will be in the low 50s and highs in the mid 60s. 

FRIDAY: There's a 40 percent chance of showers and storms in the morning, but afternoon activity can't be ruled out either.  The upper level low-pressure system will spin just to our north and give us a good chance of storms for the next couple of days.  Lows will be in the mid 50s and highs in the low 70s. 

SATURDAY: The upper level low-pressure system gives us another 40 percent chance of showers and a few rumbles of thunder.  Lows will be in the mid 50s and highs in the low 70s.  Expect partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies.
