CHUM of Duluth will activate its emergency warming centers Friday night because temperatures are expected to dip below 10 degrees.

The Gloria Dei Center, 219 N. Sixth Ave. E., and Harmony Club Center, off 25th Avenue West between Fourth and Fifth streets, both open at 8 p.m. Friday and close Saturday at 8 a.m.

The CHUM drop-in center, 125 N. First Ave W., also operates as a warming center and is open every night regardless of temperature.

In Superior, the Ruth House, 632 Grand Ave., is open as a warming center from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. when the temperature is 40 degrees or colder.

The Duluth Transit Authority offers free rides to and from the warming centers from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m. Riders must specify they are going to a warming center.
