Your forecast for today: We can expect mostly cloudy to overcast skies across the region today as rain showers increase into the afternoon and evening. It is possible a few of us may even hear a rumble of thunder or two with some of the stronger showers. We will still be on the warmer side of the system today with highs topping out near 58 degrees.
Tonight: Overcast skies and periods of rainfall will continue this evening and into the overnight hours as well. Temperatures won’t drop much thanks to the clouds and warm southerly winds with a low near 46 degrees.
Tomorrow: Things start to get a little more interesting by Friday as the cold front begins to move across the region from west to east. Our morning temperatures will set the high for the day around 52 degrees, but temperatures will plummet into the low 40s by the afternoon. The best chance of rain will be in the morning hours before a dry slot moves in and temporarily dries us out a little bit in the afternoon.
Colder air moves in Friday night and lingers over the weekend, which is when we will see the likelihood of rain changing over and mixing with snow. Accumulations are still expected to be light, but much of the region stands a chance at picking up a slushy inch or two of snowfall over the weekend.
