Weekend forecast for Duluth and the Northland
Friday: The cold snap will continue today and get even colder into the weekend. We can expect another day filled with sunshine, but temperatures will only top out near 6 degrees by this afternoon. A light northerly breeze at 5-10 mph will be enough to keep wind chill values in the 20 to 30 below zero range. A wind chill advisory is in place until noon today. Use caution if headed outdoors as frostbite can occur within 10 minutes to exposed skin in these conditions.
Friday night: The sunshine of today will give way to clear skies tonight and plummeting temperatures falling into the teens and twenties below zero. We can expect an overnight low of 15 below zero in the Twin Ports with more wind chill advisories likely to be issued.
Saturday: There won’t be much change in the forecast heading into the weekend. The sunshine and cold temperatures will continue to stick around. We can expect an afternoon high of only 4 degrees Saturday afternoon with wind chills again remaining well below zero.
A few more clouds will arrive on Sunday with partly cloudy skies expected and a high near 8 degrees. The frigid cold and sunny weather finally gives way to a chance of light snow as we start the new week on Monday.
- Wind Chill Advisory until noon Friday with wind chills down to 35 below zero.
- A cold and sunny weekend ahead.
