Lake Country Power crews restore service after first snowfall
Lake Country Power line crews have restored service to more than 1,900 members who lost power after the first winter storm early Friday. Crews worked since Friday morning, making repairs to power lines affected by tree branches weighed down by heavy, wet snow.
The storm, which dropped up to 6 inches of snow in areas such as Jacobson, primarily affected members in the Grand Rapids service area. Crews had to cut through debris covering roadways before they could reach outage points. As of 4 p.m., 200 members were still without power.
