The peregrine falcons that nest on the Greysolon Plaza building in downtown Duluth hatched three chicks about 10 days ago, and you have the opportunity to watch them.
Weather permitting, Peregrine Watch naturalists equipped with spotting scopes will be at Lake Place Park between the Lakewalk and East Superior Street at Third Avenue East from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday until mid-July. Through the scopes, people can watch as the adults feed and care for the young and the young grow and learn to fly.
Peregrine Watch, established in 2006 to share the wonder of these birds with the public, is sponsored by Hawk Ridge Bird Observatory. For more information, go to hawkridge.org.
