A Washburn County Wisconsin man died in a vehicle crash involving a dump truck Thursday morning near Long Lake, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol.
David E. Hogan, 35, of Sarona, was driving a 1996 Nissan Maxima when he reportedly lost control due to a high rate of speed as he traveled southbound on County Trunk Highway M-D. His vehicle skidded at an angle into a northbound 2002 Sterling dump truck driven by Jim Holmstrom of Rice Lake. Hogan was not wearing a seat belt and it was not known if alcohol was a factor in the crash, according to a report by the Wisconsin State Patrol. Holmstrom was not injured.
