A Warroad, Minn., teacher has resigned after school officials investigated an allegation of an inappropriate relationship with a student.

In a news release, Superintendent Craig Oftedahl said School Board members accepted high school science teacher Amy Haataja's resignation at a meeting Monday.

The district has found a long-term substitute for her position, Oftedahl said today, and the internal investigation by school officials did not involve law enforcement.

Haataja was on paid administrative leave since Jan. 15 while the district investigated, Oftedahl said last month.

Haataja spent four years as a part-time science teacher at Lake of the Woods High School and left last fall to take a full-time job in Warroad.
