A Chicago man who was arrested by Duluth police Monday night has refused to waive extradition to Mississippi where he is wanted for murder.
Gregory Ladell Williams, 20, is wanted in Bolivar County, Miss., on a homicide arrest warrant issued there in April 2006.
Williams was arraigned in St. Louis County District Court today on a charge of being a fugitive from justice. He is also charged with giving a false name to Duluth police in a separate incident.
Williams will continue to be held without bail in the St. Louis County Jail until a review hearing on June 29.
The governor of Mississippi, or a person authorized by the governor, will send an extradition warrant to Minnesota. The Minnesota governor has to sign a rendition warrant for Mississippi authorities to return Williams to their state.
