Civil defense sirens will sound Wednesday morning in Virginia as the city tests its emergency warning system.
Interim Police Chief Dennis Benz said the system is being tested beyond the usual first Wednesday of the month after problems were discovered during storms in July. The sirens are expected to go off at 9:30 a.m.
