A fire at a home in Virginia on Wednesday evening displaced 11 people, officials said Thursday. There were no injuries.
The Virginia Fire Department responded to the call at 230 Fourth St. S. about 6:45 p.m. On arrival, crews found smoke coming from the second-floor windows of the three-story structure.
The fire was contained to a hallway, and damage was limited to about $2,500, authorities said. Firefighters were on the scene until about 9:20 p.m.
The American Red Cross provided overnight accommodations for 11 people after the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The Eveleth and Mountain Iron fire departments and the Virginia Police Department assisted at the scene.
