Virginia Area won boys and girls team titles in Thursday's Cloquet-Esko-Carlton Alpine Invitational at Mont du Lac Ski Area.
Beau Larson of Cook County led the boys division with a two-run time of 58.44 seconds and Henry Roningen of Duluth East was second at 58.91.
Duluth Central exchange student Barbara Mikova was first in the girls division in 1:00.38 and Amy Sienko of East was second at 1:03.75.
* In Tuesday's Cloquet Freestyle Invitational Nordic meet at Pine Valley Ski Center, East swept the team titles. East sophomore Marian Lund won the individual girls race in 14 minutes, 53.7 seconds for five kilometers and junior teammate Alena Tofte was second in 15:06.5. Cloquet-Esko-Carlton sophomore Raleigh Goessling led the boys in 12:16.2 and East senior Grant Cook was second in 12:55.4.
