No one was hurt during an apartment fire in Virginia on Sunday that displaced nine residents, according to the Virginia Fire Department.
The fire began on the second floor of apartments on the 200 block of Third Street North. Firefighters arrived at the fire shortly after 6:30 p.m., and needed about two hours to secure the scene, with responders joining in from Mountain Iron and Eveleth, as well as the Virginia police and the Minnesota State Patrol.
The nine residents are being assisted by the Red Cross, and the fire is being investigated by the Virginia Fire Department’s fire marshal. The fire caused about $25,000 in damage.
