An Ontario man has been identified as the person killed in a two-car accident Saturday afternoon in Bayfield County.

Two others were injured in the crash on U.S. Highway 63 north of Grand View.

The Bayfield County Sheriff's Office reported that James Collins, 64, of Barrie, Ontario, was heading north on Highway 63 about 3:45 p.m. Saturday when he lost control and crossed the center line, colliding with a southbound vehicle. Collins died at the scene.

The driver of the southbound vehicle, 21-year-old Cody Weiss of Mason, Wis., and a passenger, 22-year-old Tamara Wood of Ashland, were injured and had to be extricated from their vehicle. They were transported to Memorial Medical Center in Ashland, and then transferred to hospitals in

Duluth.

Other agencies responding to the scene included Mason, Great Divide and Ashland ambulance services, and the Grand View, Drummond and Namekagon fire departments. The crash remains under investigation.
