An 18-year-old Virginia woman died Sunday after suffering a severe head trauma in a jump from a moving vehicle Friday on County Road 7 in Mountain Iron, according to the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office.

Randon Konecny, the driver of the car, reported the jump at 9:20 p.m. Friday. Konecny, 26, of Mountain Iron said the woman, Tina Marie Tracy, jumped from his car while they were traveling 50 mph.

Konecny told the authorities that he went to pick up Tracy, his girlfriend, from a party where she had been drinking.

"She jumped out of the passenger seat with no indication that there had been an argument," Lt. Edward Kippley said. "We are not sure what happened."

Authorities questioned people at the party, and they said everything seemed fine between the couple.
