Up to seven inches of snow forecast for today into Thursday

The National Weather Service in Duluth has issued a snow advisory for much of the Northland to take effect at 6 p.m. today and continue until noon Thursday.

The National Weather Service in Duluth has issued a snow advisory for much of the Northland to take effect at 6 p.m. today and continue until noon Thursday.

From four to seven inches of snow is forecast to fall from the Chippewa National Forest, the Iron Range and along the North Shore up to Silver Bay by noon Thursday. Lesser amounts will fall along the Canadian Border. Subzero cold will follow the snow Thursday evening and night.

Drivers should be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities.
