The University of Minnesota Duluth on Monday, April 9 will hold a free talk on cyberbullying, sexting and social networking, and the intersection of all of those things with teenagers.
Justin Patchin, a criminal justice professor at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, speaks at 4:30 p.m. in UMD’s Kirby Rafters. A reception is at 4 p.m. An expert in the areas of teens and their use of technology, Patchin has traveled the country training educators, counselors, law enforcement, parents and youth on preventing the misuse of technology. He is co-director of the Cyberbullying Research Center and is author of “Bullying beyond the Schoolyard: Preventing and Responding to Cyberbullying,” and Bullying Today: Bullet Points and Best Practices.”
