Duluth police are searching for two suspects after a report of an armed robbery Thursday afternoon at a home in Duluth's East Hillside neighborhood.

According to police, officers were called to the 1300 block of East Fourth Street just before 5 p.m. Thursday. The two male suspects reportedly knocked on the back door of a home and pointed a handgun at a male resident who answered the door. After being let inside, the two suspects also pointed the weapon at three other residents of the home.

The two men stole some items and an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured. Police set up a perimeter around the scene and deployed a K-9 unit, but were unable to locate the suspects at that time.

The suspects are described as:

  • A black male, about 18 years old, with a beard and short black hair, wearing a white T-shirt with a colorful design on the front and long pants.
  • A black male, about 20 years old, with short black hair, a large stud earring and wearing a black T-shirt. Officer Jim Hansen, Duluth police spokesman, noted that two home invasions have occurred at the same address within the past two months. That's far from the norm in the city. "Home invasions in Duluth are very rare," he said.

The investigation into the incident continues.
