Two seriously hurt in Superior crash

Two people were seriously injured in a collision Thursday morning in Superior.
Superior police said the crash occurred just after 6:30 a.m. when a red 2014 Toyota Corolla failed to stop at a red light at 39th Avenue East and Second Street and struck a black Mazda CX-9 that was turning left onto Second Street, driving it into a lightpole.
Both drivers, a 25-year-old woman and a 26-year-old woman, were extricated from their vehicles and taken to local hospitals with what Superior police described as serious injuries.
Officers suspected impairment on the part of the driver of the Toyota, and a blood draw was collected at the hospital, police said.
