Two dogs die in Mountain Iron house fire

Two dogs died in a house fire in Mountain Iron before noon on Friday, authorities said.
The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office said four fire departments responded to a fire at 8386 Gardenia St. at 11:20 a.m., and the crews were able to contain the blaze to the kitchen.
No people were inside the home at the time, though two dogs were found dead in the home, the sheriff’s office said.
A cat reported to be inside the residence was not found.
The Mountain Iron, Virginia, Eveleth and Fayal fire department responded to the scene; the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
