Two people were assaulted early Wednesday morning when a Lincoln Park home was robbed.
Duluth police responded to a report of a robbery on the 600 block of Atlantic Avenue in Duluth at 5:15 a.m. Wednesday. Two people were assaulted and taken to a local hospital with what authorities described as non-life-threatening injuries, a news release said. There were both treated and released.
Duluth Police Department public information officer Ingrid Hornibrook would not confirm or deny if the victims lived in the home.
“No further details will be shared to protect the integrity of the investigation,” Hornibrook said in an email.
Hornibrook said an update should be expected Thursday. This is an ongoing investigation and no one was in custody as of Wednesday afternoon.
“We understand how a crime like this creates concern in the community and, rest assured, police are working in earnest gathering evidence and following up on leads, which I’m confident will lead to an identification and arrest,” Duluth police chief Mike Tusken said in a statement.
