Itasca County Sheriffâs Office deputies seized four pounds of suspected synthetic marijuana âSpiceâ from a Taconite home on Thursday. Six people were in the home at the time of the search warrant. Two were arrested.
The owner of the home on Stephens Street, Kevin Leclair, 53, was charged with felony fifth-degree possession of controlled substance. David Thrasher, 61, was charged with felony fifth-degree possession of controlled substance and obstruction of justice.
The sheriffâs office estimated the street value of the bust at $4,000. Officers also found paraphernalia and evidence of the manufacturing of synthetic marijuana.
Six people were in the home at the time of the search warrant.
The warrant was the result of a three-month investigation conducted by the Itasca County Sheriff. The Sheriffâs Office was assisted by officers from the Minnesota State Patrol and the Grand Rapids Police Department.
