The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency today removed two area beaches from the list of those where people are advised to avoid contact with the water.

Test on water samples collected at Park Point's Southworth Marsh Beach and Agate Bay Beach in Two Harbors show that fecal indicator bacteria levels and averages have returned to acceptable levels.

The advisory against water contact at the Duluth Boat Club site on Park Point remains in effect. Water samples collected there Monday found elevated E. coli bacteria levels. The elevated levels indicate the presence of fecal contamination. The beach is scheduled to be sampled again today.

Anyone who becomes ill after contacting beach water is asked to contact Amy Westbrook at the Minnesota Department of Health Duluth office at723-4907.
