A Minnesota man died in a boating accident Saturday on Dilly Lake in Washburn County, authorities say.

Emergency personnel were called to the lake at approximately 8 p.m. Saturday after it was reported that two people had fallen out of a small boat, according to a news release sent by the Washburn County Sheriff's Office.

Before deputies arrived, the two had been pulled out of the water by a couple on a pontoon boat. Deputies and an ambulance met them at the Dilly Lake landing, where CPR was administered to Timothy Francis Anderson, 42, of Inver Grove Heights, Minn.

He was transported to a hospital in Spooner, where he was pronounced dead, according to the sheriff's office.

Anderson reportedly stood up in the boat, slipped and fell overboard, causing a woman to fall out and the boat to capsize. Although life jackets were in the boat, neither was wearing them. They attempted to swim to shore and Anderson did not make it, according to the Sheriff's Office.
