Tuesday's weather for Duluth area: Rain chances vary across region

A low-pressure system will be pushing east through Iowa today. This low will bring in a 70 percent chance of rain for the Hayward area but only a 30 percent chance for Duluth. It looks like most of the moisture will be to the south of the Twin Ports.

A low-pressure system will be pushing east through Iowa today. This low will bring in a 70 percent chance of rain for the Hayward area but only a 30 percent chance for Duluth. It looks like most of the moisture will be to the south of the Twin Ports. The low also will create an easterly wind, so it will be cooler by the lake with highs ranging from the upper 30s to mid-40s in Duluth.

On Wednesday, there will be a 30 percent chance of some showers or snow as a small wave in the jet stream moves over the Northland, creating uplift. Morning lows will be about 32, highs near 47 with mostly cloudy skies.

On Thursday, lows will be about 31, highs in the mid-40s with partly cloudy skies. Our next chance of snow or rain is on Friday as a trough in the jet stream will swing over the area, giving us a 30 percent of snow with lows near 31 and highs at 42.
