Tuesday's weather for Duluth and the Northland: What is that falling from the sky?

Most of the Northland is forecast to get 2-5 inches of snow. The last time Duluth saw over 4 inches was Nov. 10, when we wound up with 4.7 inches. Our snowfall for the season is 26 inches below average.

A storm will develop in the Central Plains and move across the Upper Midwest today. About 3-5 inches of snow is expected along and south of Highway 2.
The cold front associated with the system will move through during the afternoon, bringing strong northwest winds and blowing and drifting snow. Warmer air will return for the weekend, with a chance of snow late Friday and late Saturday.
