TUESDAY: A low-pressure system to our south will form a band of heavier snow through southern St. Louis County, up the North Shore and along the South Shore. The band also will include Pine, Carlton and Burnett counties. The chance of snow is about 80 percent. It should be a wet snow, because highs will be in the low to mid-30s. Snow accumulations will be about 4-8 inches in this band, with higher amounts (10 inches or more) in elevated terrain. The Iron Range and Hayward will see about 3-6 inches, and Ely and Bigfork will see 2-4 inches.
WEDNESDAY: The low will move east, and the snow showers will go with it. There's a 40 percent chance of morning snow.
