A major cold front has swept through the Northland, bringing with it some hail and high wind gusts around Duluth. Half-inch hail was reported in Hermantown on Monday evening, and pea-size hail fell in West Duluth. As the front moves southwest, it's bringing colder air behind it. Today's highs will be in the low 60s. There is a 30 percent chance of showers for areas north of the Range this afternoon as a low pressure system in Ontario continues east.
A reinforcing shot of cold air will arrive tonight and lower temperatures to 36. Expect a few clouds Wednesday afternoon and highs up to only 50. There's a chance of frost Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Lows will be near freezing.
Thursday we'll have mostly sunny skies and mid-50s for highs. Lows will be in the mid-30s into Friday morning. But the northwest flow of cool air will be gone by Friday, and we'll warm up to 60 with partly cloudy skies.
Make it a great day!
