The Duluth Transit Authority is extending the Port Town Trolley route on Saturday, Aug. 7, to accommodate the Duluth International Folk Festival in Leif Erickson Park.

The DTA will operate two Port Town Trolleys that day and will include a stop at the Rose Garden as part of its route -- providing service every 20 minutes for easy access to the folk festival.

Since convenient parking is limited at Leif Erickson Park, Folk Festival organizers are encouraging the public to take advantage of the Port Town Trolley service to and from the event.

The Trolley will continue to provide service along its regular route during the day, too, which includes stops at the Depot, Great Lakes Aquarium, DECC, Vista Fleet Dock, S/S William A. Irvin, Omnimax Theatre, Canal Park District, Fitger's, Holiday Center and Radisson Hotel.

The Port Town Trolley fare is 25 cents. Children three years of age and under ride free. Monthly DTA passes, tokens and "Courtesy Park Coupons" will also be accepted.
