A Cloquet man escaped injury after a train collided with his pickup.
No one was hurt in the accident that happened near the intersection of Central Hall Road and Highway 210 in Sawyer Township just after 4:30 p.m. Monday.
The Carlton County Sheriff's Department said 74-year-old John Martin Junior lost control of his truck when it began to slide due to icy road conditions.
That, authorities said, is when the Burlington Northern & Santa Fe train hit Martin's truck.
The Carlton County Sheriff's Department, Fond du Lac Police, Minnesota State Patrol and Carlton Fire & Ambulance responded to the crash.
