ST. PAUL -- Five trailers to be used as temporary homes are en route to Browns Valley, Minn., for people displaced by last month's flooding.

The 30- to 32-foot-long trailers should arrive in the Twin Cities by Friday, with Browns Valley and Traverse County officials taking them to their community after that.

Minnesota's Administration Department is coordinating the trailers' transfer from the Federal Emergency Management Administration to local officials.

The trailers are free to families that need housing, but they must pay up to $3,000 per trailer for transporting the trailers to Browns Valley.

The west-central Minnesota community of Browns Valley was hit by flooding last month. Significant federal aid is not expected, but Gov. Tim Pawlenty and other state leaders have pledged state help.
