Saturday's Minnesota Army National Guard's Frozen 5k race will result in traffic detours and delays, according to the Duluth Police Department.
The run will start on Airpark Boulevard at the Minnesota Army National Guard Armory at 10 a.m. The runners will head west to Haines Road, north to Airport Road, east to Rice Lake Road, south to Airpark Boulevard, before returning to the armory.
At 9:45 a.m., police officers will begin detouring traffic in the race area. The eastbound lane of Airport Road will be closed. Eastbound motorists wanting to reach Rice Lake Road from Haines Road will be required to use either Arrowhead Road or Krueger Road. The airport may be accessed via either Haines Road or Airport Road. Motorists can expect delays when trying to access businesses in the Airpark Industrial area during the time of the race.
Motorists are cautioned to watch for officers directing traffic and runners along the course. Roadways should reopen to normal traffic around noon.
