A new phase of street construction beginning Tuesday will alter access to, and traffic flow around, Essentia Health’s downtown medical campus.
The third and final phase of the city of Duluth’s six-month utility- and street-improvement project will close portions of Fifth and Sixth avenues east and reroute traffic along Third Street, an Essentia Health news release said Friday.
Among the considerations:
- Fifth Avenue East will be closed from Third Street to Second Street, except to cross to the alley to enter and exit the Green Ramp parking structure.
- Third Street will be closed to westbound traffic between Sixth and Fifth avenues east. Two-way traffic will be allowed along Third Street between Third and Fifth avenues east.
