The Hermantown City Council approved the final details of a multi-year road construction plan on Monday night.
The council approved the plan unanimously, and is now accepting project bids until Jan. 30 at 10 a.m., according to a news release from the city.
The project covers Johnson, Portland, Carlson and Alexander roads in southeast Hermantown, as well as Hermantown Road between Okerstrom and Stebner roads.
Construction includes improving the surfaces of Hermantown, Johnson and Portland roads, as well as reconstructing Alexander and Carlson roads. The project also includes numerous minor repairs to infrastructure such as sanitary sewers and water mains.
With numerous public meetings held about the project, City Administrator John Mulder said in the release "we have had great input from the residents on this project and feel they have a strong understanding of what can be accomplished in improving these roads."
The project has been in the works since May last year, and construction is scheduled to start this May and wrap up in October, according to city council documents.
The city is financing the project through tax-exempt bonds.
